About the Club

The American Norwegian Lundehund Club was formed in November 2006
and is licensed with United Kennel Club. The Rocky Mountain Norwegian
Lundehund Society, Inc, which was formed in March, 2004, an active club
which hosted many activities including Judges' breed seminars, Meet the
Breed activities, hosting Specialties in 2004 and 2006 and also public
education events, merged with the American Norwegian Lundehund Club
shortly thereafter. The American Norwegian Lundehund Club has
members throughout the United States.
The American Norwegian Lundehund Club hosted the first American
Norwegian Lundehund Club Specialty (unlicensed) September 15, 2007,
first Licensed UKC Specialty in March 7, 2008, and first licensed UKC
Multibreed show in November 21, 2008. The club is committed to hosting
a minimum of 2 UKC shows each year and is working to become fully
licensed in Obedience and Rally Obedience as well.
The American Norwegian Lundehund Club is proud of our Health and
Research committee. The Norwegian Lundehund breed is now part of
CHIC (Canine Health Information Center). The three health tests are OFA
Patellas, CERF (must be at least 2 years old) and DNA Repository (Blood
Draw only).

The ANLC is also proud of The Versatility Program, honoring those
Lundehunds and their owners who have titled their dogs in more than
one activity. The Versatility Program is offered to not only those
registered Lundehunds but also those Lundehunds who have
LP/ILP/PAL numbers as well.
